THE ANTI-RACIST SCHOOL 2024 dates!
This course has been designed to enhance understanding of how racism manifests in an educational setting. Over the last four years, there has been a significant national and global awakening regarding the impact of systemic racism in our society, highlighting clear disparities in health, economic, and educational outcomes for those from the global majority.
The course lays the foundations for educational practitioners to comprehend how some of these disparities have developed over time and recognises our role as educators in acknowledging and addressing how racism can be perpetuated within our current educational system. In order for students to feel safe and thrive in our environments they must feel valued and represented. This course will help you to individually reflect on your role in ensuring anti-racist practice in the classroom and provide you with the knowledge and tools to move forward as a team benefitting everyone in your community.
The Anti-Racist School is tailored for leadership, teaching, and support staff in the primary and secondary sectors. There will be plenty of information and reflection points that will be useful for Governors, parents, youth workers and anyone working with young people in a UK context. It is suitable for both those who are at the very start of their understanding of anti-racism and settings who wish to drive their practice forward.
This two-part course can be undertaken by individuals, small teams, or entire staff cohorts in an online setting. Certificates of participation will be issued upon completion of the course (whether part one, part two, or both sessions). If booking both parts simultaneously, a discount will be applied. Organisations can also choose an invoice option.
